Heartfelt Challenge

Over at Amanda Sewels' Blog She offered up a challenge starting today and a new one next Friday, to use a stamp set she hasn't used in a very long time. Todays challenge was Heartfelt Thanks. I happen to love this set so not so hard for me. I do have trouble using the sentiments from the set, but I am all over the flowers. Colors are Rose Red, Apricot, and Celery.

Wow thats Bright!

And now for something completely different LOL. My niece is about to celebrate her 8th birthday and I needed a card. She is having a Pretty Princess party and well, I am fresh out of princess stamps. This will have to do! The colors are from the BB color group. Orchid, Pixie Pink, and Black.I used the Paisly Background stamp and the Petal Prints set, as well as the Fancy Flexable Phrases and Small Sayings. This card is inspired by a card by JackieG from a shoebox swap in Arlington Texas back in October of 2005. It is fun to make these bright and cheerful cards once in awhile. Oh, I forgot to add that the flower centers are stickled.

My stampin' space

It ain't much, but its all I got! I am a closet stamper. I have a largish walkin closet in our office that I have taken over as my place. I am bursting at the seams and have some overflow (lets not go there), but almost everything I need is at my finger tips. My husband ran electricity so I have an outlet to plug in my heat gun or my glue gun, or light table if I need them. Its a nice little spot for me for now. Someday I will probabaly take over the whole office, but I am not ready for that just yet. I am trying to keep rubber stamping my hobby not my whole life. I have a fear I will completely go crazy and buy up everything I see if I have more space. Trying to be a good girl and limit myself so the kids can eat and go to college someday LOL. After they are out of the house........I may go crazy and take over the house! Here a few photos of my space: Disclaimer.....Its not all that clean but its works for me this way!

Little Bandaid tin

I plan to put a giftcard inside to Starbucks, it also has 4 giftcards inside with envelopes for whomever wins it to use to make their own cards. This was made for the SCS dinner in Virginia Beach April 20. I used Basic Grey Blush papers and the Like it a Latte set. Stickles on the foam and the heart. Hope whomever wins it likes it.

Dots and Harmony

Here is a little card I started because of an experiment using chalk inks over colors. I love Ballet Blus but it never seems to go with anything I am making. I decided to use Lavender chalk ink over the top and the Aida cloth stamp. It definately changes the color in my mind. I know you can't see it in the photo (stupid rain is making it hard to photograph anything in the right light)but the flowers are covered in stickles for a shimmer. This card is "punch happy" I used the scallop punches, the ticket corners too. I also used the polka dot ribbon I recently received from Jody.

What do you think?

What needs to change on this card? What would you do different? I am not at ease doing no layer cards and this is no exception. Its on high quality Fabiano Medivalis paper and supposedly the paper speaks for itself in the stamping world. I used markers to color it instead of watercoloring because I wanted bold colors. So.........opinions please.

Just a simple little card to show off this cute ribbon from Micheals. Its mostly using amythist cardstock, a little moss, some scallop punches and voila' its done.
*I forgot to say I used Vintage Violet Ink on this one too

Office Accroutrement and Bohemia

I was fooling around with this new set and the Bohemia (My Minds Eye) papers. My 7 yo nephew has a birthday later this month and I thought this would be masculine enough for him. It may be a little on the sophisticated side for a kid but it was fun to make. The colors are Not Quite Navy and Celery.

Bonjour

I broke out the french sets again......its been far too long! I really love this set but strugle with positioning the elements. I decided to angle everything to make it look like letters tossed on a table(gotta use your imagination) The colors are Cool Carabbean, Chocolate chip, and vanilla. Aida background, french script background stamped in vanilla craft ink. Paper piercing and the tiny clothespin with organdy ribbon embelishments. Enjoy!

Altering Chipboard

I have to say, I do have a thing for chipboard. I like to paint it, ink it, stamp it, cover it, fix it up and stick it on stuff. Its just fun. This is a flower closeup shot that I did yesterday. I wanted to make a coaster box in the new Basic Grey Scarlet Letter Paper and needed a doo-dad to stick on the front. Its all about the embellishments ya know *wink wink* Anyway, this was fun! It is covered in vanilla craft ink, then stamped using chocolate chip ink and the French Fair Background stamp. I stamped the Carte Postal stamp in creamy caramel off to one side, then one of the flowers from the Spring Flowers set in Ruby Red. After it all dried I sprayed it with Matte Sealer Spray so it won't smear or get tacky. Here is the finished box.

Shopping on the fly!

Today my LSS , Scrapbook Crossing sent out its weekly email. I saw that they had the 6x6 Basic Grey Paper Pads in stock. I usually wait until they are sold out but Jody called and told me to go get them or call and have them hold them for me. For the first time ever, I got all 4 new paper pads before they ran out! Yeah for me! The added bonus was I had a full punch card that entitled me to 10.00 my total so it was like getting them on sale! Woohoo! They also had the new Making Memories Shimmer Brads, Petal Brads and Button Brads........they were too cute not to get! I am sooo happy!

Big Square Card

I don't often make large square cards because they are so hard to mail, but I just love this paper so much that I thought more of it should show! This is a scrapped card. I started out cutting the paper to actually use the reverse side but after I got started , this side looked better. The colors are preety in pink, Bashful blue, tempting turqouis, and shimmery white appar. I used the new SU tab punch and a Making Memories flower brad. The image was colored with my markers.

New rubber

I am breaking in new stuff. I just got the March SU special....Polka dots and Paisleys, the matching wheel and papers, then I also got Office Accroutrement(50 % off so worth every penny). I am challenged using this paper because SU has decided to use olives in alot of their new papers. I like the papers but struggle with Olive. I am more of a mellow Moss or celery gal. Even artichoke is better for me than olive. It took me several attempts to decide what color that little flower in the designer paper was, it turns out to be Teal. I like Safron and Teal together so this is what I came up with. I hope you like it.

Oooo La-La Primas

I am so happy, I got my Prima share from Texasjodylynn . I only got the Daisy share because I have a ton of the got flowers already and I am holding out for some newly released primas that aren't readily available yet, but will be in the future. I just love these flowers.

I am working on some projects that I can't show just yet, but hopefully I can soon. I have some deadlines approaching and I need to get working on them. I haven't had time to stamp just for fun in a little while. Hopefully I can soon. Back to fondling my flowers ! hehe

Altered frame

This is something I am working on to try to sell at a flea market this spring. I am making a set in matching papers. This was number 1. I will try to get the rest done soon. I have way too many things I want to do right now and not enough time to do them.

I am also working on some of these clipboards. I do enjoy them,I just wish they would go faster. I was planning on using them differently, but after some careful consideration I realized my idea was faulty and the mini clipboards won't work. I was going to add some cup hooks at the bottom but I tried one and it was too much trouble and too unstable. Might work better on the large sized clipboards.....still contemplating this idea.

Rock and Roll

I am practicing my rock and roll technique and trying to get it down to an acceptable level. For some reason I am not good at it. I used shimmery white paper for both the background and the actual card itself. Its a different size card, 5 1/2" x 3 1/2". I used Apricot and Red inks. The sentiment is outlined in Stardust gel pen for extra sparkle. The shimmery-ness didn't show up under the flourescent light but with winds up to 40MPH today, taking it in natural light is out!

Its been awhile since I stamped. I am working on some things and haven't been stamping as much as altering stuff but I am trying to get it all done and keep the laundry going. Hahaha as if the laundry ever stopped at my house!
*PS if you click on the photo it shimmers better LOL
